The Black Parade I find to be a fascinating example of how the presentation of an album can do so much to sell the record's aesthetic. When I first bought my copy of The Black Parade, the liner immediately caught my attention. The artwork inside and the lyrics presented as a "wanted" poster help to convey the album's central theme: death. And even the paper has a particular texture to it that aids in this aesthetic. Unlike the sort of glossy paper typically used, The Black Parade's liner is firm and has a subtle warping to it. It's a difficult detail to convey over a photo, but it's a nice touch that I notice even when the liner is just sitting in the case.
